FDI will launch its global report on occupational oral health during a high-level side event at the 79th World Health Assembly, shining a spotlight on workplaces as a critical setting to improve oral health, prevention, and workforce resilience.

Work occupies more than a third of adult life globally, making the workplace a powerful setting to promote oral health as a driver of well‑being, productivity, and economic growth. FDI’s new report on occupational oral health, developed with support from the Vision 2030 Industry Action Group, brings together evidence‑based and contextually relevant workplace oral health promotion and delivery models to support employers, insurers, and industry leaders in integrating oral health into workplace wellness and occupational health strategies. Anchored in the WHO Global Oral Health Action Plan (2023–2030), particularly Action 44 calling on the private sector to implement occupational oral health measures, the report provides a practical roadmap for translating global commitments into measurable, sustainable impact.

Attend the FDI side event at WHA79 in Geneva

Co-hosted with the Government of the Republic of Ireland and the Government of the Republic of Mauritius, “Oral Health at Work: A Roadmap for Prevention, Productivity and Workforce Well-being” will take place on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, in Geneva as an exclusive in-person event. Held on the sidelines of one of the world’s most influential health policy forums, the event reflects FDI’s commitment to engaging governments, decision-makers and global representatives where it matters most.

By bringing oral health directly into discussions surrounding productivity, workforce readiness and sustainable economic growth, FDI is helping elevate oral health from a clinical issue to a broader policy priority. The session will unpack how workplace wellness and occupational health frameworks can embed oral health within Universal Health Coverage, highlighting policy levers, best practices, and the roles of employers, insurers, and service providers in aligning action with public health goals.

Through policy dialogue, country experiences and emerging evidence, FDI continues to champion practical solutions that integrate oral health into wider health and development strategies. This side event represents another important step in FDI’s global advocacy efforts: ensuring oral health remains firmly on the agenda of governments and institutions shaping the future of public health.
